Finding Love, After All
Let’s talk loooooove. (Like K-I-S-S-I-N-G type love.) As a wee bit of a hopeless romantic, I’ve got a backlog of music and poetry I’ve written to woo people (or attempt to) and to heal heartbreaks (or attempt to). But years of writing helped me move past the pop-song clichés.
Now the cute stuff, like wanting to date my first crush (Suzy Cato), is an invitation to talk about the real things, like learning to date again, choosing your own happiness and figuring out what self-love actually looks like. There’s also a moment that gently touches on reclaiming ownership of your body after past experiences. It’s not about the event itself, but the healing that follows. This is a show about heart-healing, not heartbreak.
I’m joined on stage by two wildly talented friends, a singer for character-driven duets and a violinist whose solos make the love songs soar. Pair that with The Undercurrent, the beautiful secondhand bookstore which has supported musicians forever, and everything is set for a warm cozy evening of heartfelt art.
And because you’re meant to list your awards: my previous show, For My Family, And Yours, received the Most Promising Pacific Artist award at Dunedin Fringe 2025, the Collective Catharsis Award at Hastings Fringe 2024, and had absolutely glowing reviews. I’m truly grateful for everyone who came and I remember every hug and story we shared :)
