Early Midnight Circus
Early Midnight Circus is a chaotic late-night talk show staged as a theatrical spectacle, hosted by a desperate showbiz clown, Aaron James Douglas, clinging to a dying format he'll never control. Each night, Fringe Festival performers join as "guests" to promote their upcoming shows - only to be ambushed by rotating set pieces, absurd challenges and a crew determined to derail everything.
Featuring some of Wellington's top aspiring comedians, including award winners and nominees from the NZ Fringe Festival, NZ International Comedy Festival and the Billy T Award, the show is a curated madhouse of the city's wildest. It's a late-night gateway to the most absurd, experimental and ambitious shows of the season - with live music, sketch chaos and improvised mayhem in a format that's part cabaret, part meltdown, and all circus.
