The Remaining

Five girls. each with her unique background and struggles, have spent the past five years living together in a boarding school. They've shared everything from laughter to tears, faced challenges, and formed a bond that sometimes felt unbreakable. But as they approach their final weeks together before they go their separate ways, buried secrets begin to surface, testing their relationships and understanding of each other.

The Remaining is a new theatre work created by Waikamania Seve, drawing from her lived experience of adolescence in an all-girls Māori boarding hostel. It's raw, funny, and unflinching, exploring friendship, resilience, and the messiness of growing up. Dedicated to all the boarding school kids.
