The Fabulous Fabelinskys
The Fabulous Fabelinskys is a heart-warming play that combines stunning elements of circus, physical theatre and clowning. Set in a travelling circus in Aotearoa in the 1890s, it is the story of a family circus act, The Fabelinskys. Papa and Mama and their two adult daughters have always pretended to be Russian, except Papa has just died, leaving the three women to negotiate not only who they can be without him, how to keep the show on the road, but also how to negotiate a world that is not safe for women without the protection of a man. This is a story about about identity, family, grief and self-belief that is equal parts funny and poignant.
Directed by Jen McArthur and starring current 2025 Billy T nominee Booth The Clown, NZ Fringe 2022 "Best In Fringe " winner Rachel Atlas, NZ's hula hoop sensation Laura Oakley, and featuring original music played live by reknowned circus star Jackson Cordery, this is a fusion of spectacular local talent that will take your breath away!
